5 Restaurant Bathroom Design Ideas to Boost Your Business

Going to a restaurant is a layered experience, with many elements that add to the customer experience. The ambience, the decor, the music, the crowd – the food is no longer the only cut. A restaurant’s decor is often a huge driving force in bringing in customers in today’s day and age, where places are deemed ‘Instagram worthy’ by the general public. But there is one more aspect that tends to go overlooked – your restaurant’s bathroom.

Because isn’t it nice when the decor, plush furniture and glitzy lighting is mesmerizing, and when you step into the bathroom, you find it’s not smelly and dingy? But instead, exists as a little paradise of its own. Your restaurant bathroom is an extension of your restaurant, and a little effort can make all the difference. So here are some modern bathroom ideas to consider for a beautiful bathroom experience.

Lighting is key
Any attempt or idea for renovation will be pointless if no one can see it. Ensure that your restaurant’s bathroom lighting is just perfect – it shouldn’t be too dim, too bright, or too harsh. After all, no one likes a rude shock when they look in the mirror, or glaring lights when they’ve been enjoying happy hour. People also tend to visit the bathroom to touch up their makeup or freshen up a little, and if the light is flattering, they might even whip out their phones for a quick snap. Explore different lights as well, and choose fittings that are on par with the rest of your restaurant’s interiors, so as to not disrupt the flow between spaces.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall
In a world of smartphones and social media, pictures take precedence when you go out. Restaurant bathrooms are very often the designated selfie zones and are even turned into makeshift photo booths for group pictures. And of course, every picture needs a frame. This makes investing in a nice mirror one of the best modern bathroom ideas, that won’t break the bank. Keep in mind that bathroom pictures uploaded online also help to drive and promote business, so this is one of the greatest bathroom renovation ideas worth considering.

Colour me calm
Colour psychology is real and plays an integral role in designing any space, which includes your restaurant bathroom. When a customer enters the restroom, the babble from the tables outside should die down as the door swings shut, to the quiet that a personal space like a restroom entails. And this is where neutral and cool colours help to create a calming and relaxing environment. Design your restaurant bathroom with a fixed colour palette in mind which suits the mood you are aiming to build.

Tiles are your friends
Tiles are some of the most fun and dynamic elements that instantly make a space more attractive with personality. With a variety of patterns, designs, textures, finishes, colours, and more, tiles can often be the gateway to renovating your restaurant’s washroom. While figuring out your bathroom renovation ideas, feel free to experiment with floor and wall tiles, or both if you want to go all out.

Choosing the right facilities
From installing the right washroom accessories to selecting the perfect washbasin and matching it with the right faucet, these choices can be the deciding factor in how modern and sleek your restaurant’s bathroom design appears. Adding other amenities like countertops and hooks to place items down on also go a long way, as customers are sure to appreciate the thought you put into with regards to convenience and use. Even the kind of toilet paper roll or paper towel dispensers can make a large difference.

The final touch
Placing three-wick candles and a dispenser with hand lotion or hand sanitizer is a class act. Everyone loves a gentle whiff of a perfumed smell as they head back out to their table, and it’s a known fact that our brains store memories associated with smell more vividly. Putting a few lit candles on countertops also instills warmth and a feeling of zen in the bathroom, and will be seen as a very personal touch.
