We all know that June is a month of global wellness! While Global Wellness Day (11 June) may have passed, it’s not too late to celebrate. In fact, we believe every day should be a wellness day where we focus on rejuvenating our mind and body from the inside out. Well, what better way to do that than with an ultimate spa day?
Going to the spa can be extremely relaxing but it’s usually heavy on the wallet and time-consuming. It can also be overwhelming at times as there are so many options to choose from. Instead, bring the spa home with our spa ideas! We have curated a list of our absolute favorite things to do to relax and rejuvenate after a stressful day. Most of these tips are easy to do and are light on the wallet. Let’s take a look at a few ways you can focus on your wellness this month with a DIY spa at home!
How to do Spa at Home
Here are a couple of spa ideas to help you learn how to do spa at home and truly celebrate wellness, in the best way possible.
1. Take a Relaxing Soak
There’s truly nothing more soothing than ending a long day with a warm, unhurried soak. Whether you prefer the elegance of a deep bathtub or the therapeutic comfort of a whirlpool, immersing yourself in warm water remains one of the most effective ways to relax both body and mind. If you’re considering investing in a hot tub, you can explore more about the wellness benefits of spa therapy here.
To elevate the experience even further, add a bath bomb or a pinch of bath salts to enrich the water with calming aromas and skin-nourishing minerals. If you enjoy DIY self-care, you can also learn how to make your own bath bomb here.
2. Indulge in Skincare
Taking care of your skin is crucial to having a DIY spa at home. You can make your own homemade face masks or invest in some quality skincare to feel luxurious and pampered during your spa day at home.
3. Play Relaxing Music
Whether calming music or hard rock relaxes you, we aren’t here to judge. No spa day at home is complete without some tunes to set the mood and uplift your spirits. Light up some candles while you're at it and dim your lights, so you can feel completely at peace. As an added bonus, ensure the candles are scented to stimulate your olfactory senses as well. 4. Cleanse Yourself in Steam
Steam can be extremely soothing for the body and besides the obvious relaxation factor, steam can help open up your pores and help you achieve glowy skin. Check out this video on the benefits of a steam bath and how it can help improve your wellness.
5. Indulge in a Massage
Massages don’t just have to be something you indulge in once a year, when you’re on vacation. One of the key components of a DIY spa at home is rejuvenating yourself with a massage that can cure your tired shoulders and prepare you for the next day. Besides just giving yourself a massage, you can try a massage chair or a hot tub with massaging jets to awaken your muscles and help you relax after a hectic day!
While indulging in an at-home spa may appear like a superficial task, it is a key part of self-care and mental health. A spa day is meant to be a time for yourself to reflect, de-stress and rejuvenate, in any way that’s comfortable to you. Pampering yourself can be highly beneficial for your holistic well-being and avoid burnouts that many youngsters suffer from nowadays. With the help of these spa ideas, you can have the ultimate spa day at home and celebrate Global Wellness Day the way it was meant to be celebrated!
